5K tempo run: for the last lap, 0.3 miles, while sprinting, my pulse averaged 154 and maxed at 157
12 miles. It was supposed to be 15 and it wasn't pretty. Hot, humid, hills. I was drenched, my shoes & socks were soaked and squishy with sweat.
I know you should never make any big decisions during or after a hard run, but I'm seriously considering bailing on a fall marathon. Training just doesn't seem like fun this summer. It feels like more of an obligation and a stressor. I don't like feeling like I missed my goal for the day because I "only" ran 12 in these conditions today. I think it might be fun to see what happens when I focus on running harder for shorter distances. Or just running what I feel like running.
Don't do it if you don't love it, Tater.
Six extremely slow miles for me and my migraine.
4.5 jog-walk. Got headachey and breathing felt laborious after a while (low-level bronchial thing) so I bagged it.
Joining the bagging crew. Went 11.5K of a planned 16-17K, when the heat and humidity (plus still in recovery mode from my marathon last Sunday) got to me and I used my emergency subway token to get me back home.
Be safe in the heat out there everyone.
10. It was hot but the course was lovely.

I was nervous about my hamstring after tweaking it last week but it held up fine in yesterday's workout:
jog 800M
Plyo warmups
300M, walk 200
200M, walk 100
2 x 100M
5 x 40m with starting blocks
jog 800M
All (except for the jogging) at 90-95% max speed.
Ready for Nationals next weekend!
