Thursday's hill work session took more out of me than I expected. Took yesterday off, and did just a recovery 9K this late afternooon.
Mixed results in a 5K. I did a Park Run (5K) around a lake. Pace was about what I did for a half marathon last fall and I could not get faster than that. So it was about a 45 seconds to a minute slower than I might have expected. Mitigating factor was that it was 22 degrees, wind chill 16. So not exactly ideal. An inconclusive, WTF factor was that my HR stayed in the threshold range even though it felt like I was going all out. I haven't done speed work yet so that might be part of it.
