First run since last Monday and after a 5 day trip to Seattle. Red eye back to PA on Sunday with a guy barfing next to me and one jagoff with his light on ALL night during the flight directly in front of my wife, so no sleep on that flight. >:( >:(
Anyway, short 1.5 miles this morning just to get moving again. Legs were heavy as hell after the red eye and LOTS of walking in Seattle - those hills!
Awesome weather day, mostly sunny and temps topping at 68°F. Decided to do my long run today, instead of waiting for the next weekend. Not a great decisions physically, as my old ass haven't recovered from my 30K last weekend, and a hard hill work session on Thursday. Managed to get through 33K, with four sit down rest breaks the last 8K.
I ran 6.2 miles (10K) on Monday morning and 11.7 miles (19K) on Sunday. Both days got pretty warm but I ran in the morning when it was still in the 30s or 40s. We're getting some weather whiplash with a smattering of days in the 60s and 70s--killing what was left of the ski tracks--and then several days of snow and cold.
Gorgeous day out. Got in a bit over 8 miles and some strides. Finally starting to feel normal again but man oh man I'm not going to be ready to race my half marathon in two weeks!
