Title: Friday April 24th
Post by: Red Tornado on April 24, 2026, 03:49:19 PM
I didn't post my "run" from Monday as it was a bit of a bust.  Just felt sluggish and only did about 2 miles of mostly running but some walking.

We were driving most of the day Wednesday and yesterday, so I know to take it easy after 700+ miles of driving.  It was comparably "hot" this morning at 62F in PA when I've been used to low 40s.  About 1.5 miles of ugh, but got it done.

Beautiful sunny day with 55°F temperature when I headed out the door.  I did three miles tempo run on a mildly hilly route today.

4.3 miles with a couple 200s and 100s to tune up for tomorrow's 10K road race. It was low 40s with a stiff northerly breeze making it feel like 30, but otherwise a nice morning. Should be cool and hopefully not as windy for the race.

I did a hilly 5K race at 6:30PM at the local community college. I was ill prepared, 4 runs in the last month, and it hurt a lot but under those circumstances I was happy with my time of 18:48. It was another gorgeous day outside around 65°F and slightly overcast.

I'm starting to feel back in the swing of things after all the stress from the NICU stay and now taking care of the (perfectly healthy) month old baby. I can't wait to really get my legs back under me and to amp up my training.

That's an amazing time kawasa for a hilly, undertrained race.  :e)

CONGRATS!
