Sun and warmth has finally returned in my area today. Body is still recovering from weekend's heavy manual labour. Slow 11K.
Ran a Memorial Day 5K, flat and fast course around a lake. Fast field, 6 men broke 15 and the same number of women ran under 17.
18:57 for me, which matched my goal time (which I posted here the other day). I had that time because it's 90% age grade. I did not really have the race I had hoped for, but I'll take what I got today!
Great result Loco Coyote. Congratulations!
Nice race Coyote.
I did get a little over my skis today. I did my 5 mile race in 27:27, good for 5th overall. I got a little excited in the first mile, hitting it in 5:09 but I managed to dial it back enough to close mile 5 in 5:24. The winner set a course record in 24:06 and I think I let his pace pull me out too fast plus the race wasn't pancake flat as I was told.
I'm still happy with my time considering the last half of March and most of April was a wash with everything going on in my life. I also went through 5K in 16:58 and my next race is a 3 mile race I ran last year in 15:54 and I just know I'm going to smash that.
Killed it kawasa. Nice!
Solid run Kawasa! The 5mile is an acquired taste and it takes a few of them (or in my case dozens) to find the appropriate pace.
Great runs LC and K.

It's definitely different than the distance I usually race. I probably won't seek out any 5 mile races(though Facebook knows I ran one somehow and is advertising others to me) but I hope to improve on my time next year.
