Title: Saturday August 29th
Post by: Fast Eddie on August 29, 2026, 07:51:28 PM
Ran back to back 10K, 5K races at a Cosplay race on Toronto Islands wearing a Project Hail Mary flight suit overall and a Rocky plushie on my shoulder. Glad the temps were in the high 60°Fs.

Did the 10K in 53:16, changed bibs, then did the 5K in 27:57. Started to cramp up in the right calf at 12K distance.

Still managed to come in 1st Place in the M65-69 in both races. Though not a lot of competition in the AG. Just over 1000 runners in total in both distances.

Nice! 1000 is a pretty big race around here!

I ran my HS alma mater's 5K XC race. 4 mile warm up, the race, and 3 mile cool down for just over 10 miles. I took 19 seconds off of my time from last year and beat my HS PR(22 years ago ).

I got invited to a DIII college invitational 4K this coming Tuesday and I'm REALLY looking forward to it. I went to and graduated from college but I didn't run so I'll be making my college racing debut at 39! And there are some bona fide All Americans in the race I'm keen to see how I stack up.
