I won a giant thing of vanilla whether protein powder.
Google is finding all sorts of beefcake weightlifter suggestions, and I don't trust that these people actually have taste buds.
Any suggestions how to use this stuff? I could really use some non-dairy protein sources in my life, so I'm pretty motivated to try new things.
Also, I'm not a smoothie fan, in general.
i only ever used it in smoothies (when i was into weight lifting - i was playing more basketball at the time; i don't think, if one is eating a balanced diet, an american needs supplemental protein otherwise).
i know some of my friends added it to yogurt and just ate it with a spoon.
I don't know- I got a vanilla protein powder thing from a friend who hated Vanilla (She bought it by accident) and on nights when I would come home starving from climbing, but it was too late to eat dinner, I would have a protein shake and an apple for dinner.
It's not bad as a meal replacement when you're in a hurry or on the go, and drinking it with milk was not bad. Sorry - I'm not sure that helps you :-/
I generally don't think its necessary, or necessary enough to be worth the price. But when its free, I'll experiment.
Maybe I'll try mixing it with darn-heavy stuff like cereal & oatmeal for a more balanced option? Apparently it bales well, but I don't really bake.
Milk was one of my gut reactions, too. I think I'd like it, but I'm already heavy on dairy. Plus, whether protien in milk seems redundant.
What is whether protein?
My nutritionist has me putting a scoop of whey protein in my oatmeal. Not sure if it's the same thing. He feels it's very important to have a protein with a carb and it is helping to fill me up. Oatmeal alone doesn't do it for me. I also put some almond milk in with it.
I thinik she's trying to say "whey" protein.
I'm no help, I hate the taste of protein powder. I'd probably donate it to a food bank.
Yes, whey protein.
Oatmeal may work. I'll try tomorrow.
Self-indulgent update: it isn't bad in milk.
Does it dissolve fully? Like could you add it to coffee or something?
Not really. It probably would be okay, but I'm not sure I wanna settle for okay coffee.
What is the best kind of protein powder?

What is the best kind of protein powder?
They are listed on 3 levels. I believe the one with the isolate is probably the best. Personally, I've been using the 365 brand I got from Whole Foods and I like it just fine. I use chocolate though. I think vanilla seems like it would taste chalky to me.
I got some hemp protein powder...
I use it in oatmeal sometimes. I was thinking of trying it in oatmeal cookies for a kind of homemade energy bar thing, but never got around to experimenting.
