12 strips bacon
2 tablespoons butter
1 onion, diced
1 carrot cut into chunks
1/2 med potato cut into chunks
1.5 lbs chuck steak
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 cup beef broth
pinch of rosemary, salt and pepper to taste
Weave the bacon into a latice top and bake, make everything else into a stew and bake in a pie crust with the latice on top... sounds good right? I may try this over the weekend.
In case anyone cared this was pretty good, not quite as spectacular as I wanted it to be but not bad, the bacon lattice was impressive to look at. I think I may tinker with it and try it again.
Did the bacon lattice get crispy?
I broiled it a little on low after the initial 20 min cooktime to make it nice and crisped up.
Then write 6 pages of prose describing the pie.
