I found a recipe for slow cooker applesauce that I wanted to try (which is still in the crock pot now, so I have no idea on how that turned out). I wanted to also try to do something with the leftover peels and I found a recipe that essentially candies them.
OH EM GEE, I cannot stop eating these candied apple peels. They are like crack.
I started with this recipe:

In addition to the cinnamon and sugar, I added ground ginger, nutmeg and clove and also much more water than the recipe called for. I tossed the peels in the mixture and I baked at 250 for the whole 2.5 hours recommended by Martha.
Like CRACK, I tell you! Off to eat some more...
The recipe is in the slow cooker?

The applesauce is in the slow cooker. The apple peels I made separately. In the oven.
pinning for later!
I don't peel mine for sauce... might have to start!
