Yesterday, at my grandson's league championships, he ran 4:29.81 to place 5th.  He was pretty aggressive running with leaders.  In the attached picture (he's in blue), he running with the best cross country runner in New England just after 800 meters.

Nice running. Is that his PR other than 4:26 in the relay last month?  And when is state, and is he a senior planning to run in college?
I'll stick to running, thank you.

His PR was 4:33.5 that he set in a dual meet last week.

Interestingly, with 200 meters left, he was running with two runners that both ran 4:25.  His last 150 wasn't pretty as he lost 4 seconds.   But, 2:13.6 at the half and in second place, running with a 4:15 miler (the other runner in the picture is a 4:17 miler). His class state meet is next Tuesday.  It will be a much easier meet than his league meet which is full of LL schools (Darien is L).  Since he has set a PR in every meet this spring, next Tuesday looks to be interesting.

He is a junior, so he has one more year left.  He does want to run in college, like both of his parents and older sister.

Oh, he ran 4:34 last month in the relay I had thought he was anchor. 4:29 as a junior is very solid.
I'll stick to running, thank you.
