I didn't have time to pick up my credentials today.  Guess I should go tomorrow and grab them!

It is supposed to be hot on Monday, but weather looks good most of the other days with mid 80s highs and mid 50s overnight lows.

Massachusetts own Elle Purrier is the favorite to win the women's 1500. We also have Hahvahd's Gabby Thomas in the 200.

Watching the 10k.  New this year is the discussion about "veterans" and "older runners who may be at a disadvantage"....who are younger than I am  :skep:

Impressed by the early coverage.  They ALMOST showed an entire mile continuously!

Well that was great fun! Tactical races are boring for about 95% of the way, then really exciting.  Great close by the top 3 dudes.  Bummed that Ben True just missed it, but it's hard to match a 53 second close, especially as an 'old' dude.   :old: Thrilled that Rupp and Mantz got left in the dust (looked like Rupp may have stumbled just before the final push and lost some momentum?), as I greatly enjoy hate-following them.  I don't know much about Fisher or Kincaid, but they appear to be good at running.  I remember when I first started following the olympics around '96-'00, you were just about guaranteed a spot if you could run under 28.  Now there's a whole gaggle of guys running low 27.  We've come a long way!

You could tell the dude on the outside at the end was all "MUSTNOTBELAPPED!", so that was the main homestretch drama.  It was a photo finish, but looked like they just barely got him?   :d

The oly std for 10k men is 27:28, so 28:00 will get you to the trials but no further.

Looks like it was 28:10 back in 2000 and it seemed like only a couple of guys had it at the time (Meb?  Culpepper?  Maybe Abdi?).  I think I heard them mention that 7 guys had hit the 27:28 standard!   :runner:

Elle Purrier St. Pierre from Vermont looked very strong in the 1500 semifinals.

This thread has been usurped by actual running talk over in the clubhouse. Will Rochey move it back here? :)
