I can't answer this.  Every time I think of a favorite, I think of another.  I have too many favorites.   :eats:

1!

It's a matter of distinction between favorites like...the food I could eat over and over without getting sick of it, versus the ultimate special meal that I would want, or my favorite dessert, and so on, and so on...

Yes! And then I would also have to add favorite categories for Mexican, Italian, Thai...and so on!

Indian food, or Italian, or Spanish, or Mid Eastern, or Mexican, not to mention Chinese.

Although a peanut butter or hummus and salad sandwich on good crusty white bread is my favourite snack. Or toast. Or roasted vegetables. Then there's potatoes - fried, roasted, boiled or mashed. Don't forget couscous. And apple crumble. Spinach, brussels sprouts. Custard. Marmite.

Too many favourites.

On mature reflection my favourite would be sag aloo, served with chapati or nan.

I know!  But then there's the dessert category; and I couldn't decide between a pie and a cake and a cookie!  The list of my not favorite foods is so much shorter.  :D  I think if I had to choose a last meal, it would end up being a 3-day buffet.

Jamers86

Hearty whole grain bread.  Nothing else even comes close.
