USATF National Masters Track and Field Championship in Grand Rapids, MI

Day 1:  I ran a 13.86 in the 100 meter dash, which got me 11th place.  Last year I ran 13.85 and also finished 11th, so I'm consistent (although slightly better on the age-graded tables - 82.97% WAVA).  I was pretty happy with this - got a great start and powered through.

Day 2: 6th in the long jump, 4.08 meters.  17th in the 200 meters at 29.45.  That was a little humbling, but both were season's bests (and I think I won the artificial hip division, although I didn't actually poll the other competitors).

Day 3: Our M55-59 4 x 100 meter relay team WON THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!  We (my track club - Mass Velocity) had a great team.  I was the slowest guy of the 4, so I really owe it to the other three guys.  Our leadoff runner finished 5th in the 400 meters, 6th in the 100 meters and ran a 26.07 in the 200 meters (10th).  The 2nd leg runner was actually age 63 (but you are allowed to drop down in a age group for the relays, not move up) and made the finals in M60-64 in the 100, 200, and 400.  I ran the 3rd leg.  And our anchor did well in the 100 and 200.

Anyway, we smoked the competition and won the gold medal!  Our time was a pedestrian 55.50 actually - the handoffs were a little conservative.  Wish I could have gotten a team picture, but because of a snafu all the relays were delayed which meant I had to bolt out of there immediately to catch a flight.

Nice!  Maybe they can Photoshop you into team pic?   :)
