I've been doing a lot of trail running lately with Daisy and could use some better shoes. I'm running in Brooks Ghosts, but I feel like I'm trashing them. The trails I normally run have been pretty soaked lately from all the rain we've had, so I'm often going through deep puddles and would like something water resistant. Also a lot of rocks and roots that have been pretty slick with our damp weather and I'd like a more grippy tread. Any recs?

I have a pair of waterproof Hoka Challenger GoreTex. I bought them because I run in the rain a lot in Fall and Winter since I live in Seattle's area. I've never had wet feet with them. I believe they come in both low and high top versions. They're pretty light and have that nice Hoka cushioning.

I have two pairs of Hoka Challenger Gore-Tex shoes that mostly sit on the shelf.  I had high hopes for them because I have a history with Hoka shoes, but these were duds as far as I'm concerned.

They do make Brooks Ghost GTX that have the waterproof Gortex upper, but I don't think the sole is anymore aggressive than the regular road shoe, or have a stone shield.

I have a pair of Asics Gel FujiTrabuco on orders and awaiting their arrival with upcoming winter.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

Thanks for the suggestions! Great places to start.
