Can you get Justin there? Or really any of the CA central coast ones.

I think the only California pinot noir I can get for less than $40 is Sterling Vineyards (at about $15)... I actually really really like the 2008 (but it's getting harder to find); the 2009 is nice, but not as good.

But Fat Bastard is french and not so cheap ($18 - evidently I live in the wrong part of the world).  There's a really nice Petit Syrah from Mexico I can get here, but it's from Mexico...

Fat Bastard is French?   :e) It is $8 here!

I forgot your parameters.  Well, actually, I thought the party was long gone.  :P

Meh.  I guess we could have short attention spans!   :d

Here´s a confession:  I like blends.  In fact, I think I prefer blends.  Does that make me less sophisticated or more?   :-X

Heh, no, it's seems we spend a long time gearing up for these wine-tasting dinners.  There were plenty of holiday parties with plenty of wine, but the wine-tasting parties are somewhat SERIOUS with this crowd of neighbours.  Also we have to work dates around two dudes who work on the offshore oil rigs on different schedules...

I think it just means you like consistency!  :)

I need some wine inspiration. Let me know what you got.

Right now a Mendoza Malbec from Argentina.  It is fruit forward and went well with our seafood dinner even if technically not the right pairing.  Went to my head though ... needed more post run hydration.

Hmm, i've really been enjoying two red zins lately. One is called "layer cake" and the other is "earthquake". Both super delicious and worth the special trip to the wine shop. Oh and a local(ish) one called forris flyover red... 2008. It's a blend. I'm down to my last two bottles.

Personal recommendations:

Banfi Chianti Classico Riserva
Bodegas Norton Malbec
Bodegas Norton Privada
Bertani Amarone

I like reds LOL.

I think I have seen both of the quakes in stores!  I will have to try them.

Just opened a 2009 Columbia Crest Two Vines Cabernet and it is tasting wonderful.

I rarely meet a cab sauv I don't like. It just seems to be a very drinkable wine. Even the 2buck chuck variety is completely drinkable.

This one is one of my very favorites- especially because it goes on sale for like $5.99 a bottle!

Run Amok

This is one of my favorite blends. Not the cheapest bottle of wine you will by, but always very tasty:

I love, love, love the dunham cab... but as the "cheap" one is $45/bottle... special treat here.

very nice wine for the price... though I've only had the 2010, not sure about the 2009 in the pic...

B.R. Cohn Cab is wonderful.

delicious.

I chanced upon a really cheap  2010 malbec called Alamo for $9. It was very good with Korean barbeque.

I think I had some a few weeks ago.  If it is the same wine, it was delicious!

Portuguese!  I like Douros.  I also like Daos and the reds from the Alentejo.  PT wines are generally inexpensive for the quality (imo).

I've had that and it is good.

I love finding inexpensive wines that are good.
