They do tweak it a bit, Rio, but not in a big way.  Of all the commercial diet programs, I feel WW is pretty good.

that's good to know.

I would agree with this. I liked ww because it helped me easily identify where I was wasting lots of points on things that didn't really matter to me. Since I don't have a propensity for things like ff/sf coolwhip- I didn't end up eating a lot of that stuff. I've seen the criticism that WW can be heavy on that stuff... and it CAN be, but only if you make it that way. Otherwise, it really steers you pretty naturally towards lots of produce (free! eat as many as you want!!) and moderate amounts of other stuff.

I don't remember fruit being free the one time I did WW online.

I'm terrible at tracking food.  I find it depressing, not motivating, when I go over "allowed" calories and then I lose steam.   That's why I need to just be replacing the junk with healthy food and hope that it all works out naturally.   I'm not sure how I wouldn't lose weight if I replace handfuls of chocolate covered almonds with an apple, and salt and vinegar chips with celery and hummus. :D

Veggies were free when i did WW but not fruit. I would not lose weight, i eat a lot of fruit :D

I just made another yum spinach smoothie, DD none the wise ;)

What are you putting in your smoothies, meri?

I made strawberry/blueberry/greek yogurt/spinach ones last night.  Mmmm.  You can't even remotely tell there is spinach in there.  This weekend I'm going to attempt something else.  I just need to get to the store.  All I have are berries right now.

Well... hummus can be pretty calorie dense. Guacamole and hummus both run right around 100 calories per 1/4 cup. So, you might wanna go easy on the hummus. :D

I could probably eat 10 cups of hummus and not come close to the chip calories.  I have a problem with s & v chips.

I was home with a sick kid today and finally had the opportunity to try out the Vitamix... I figured I'd ease in with one of the "getting started" recipes in the binder, and i had grapes, strawberries and a banana (and ice), so I tried a super-straightforward smoothie.  Holy cow!  Knocks the socks off any blender smoothie I've had.  Perfect consistency; delightful flavor (well...not to The Boy...he likes each of the ingredients individually, but he took a sip of the smoothie, pronounced it "good" in an unconvinced/unconvincing tone, and then refused any more).  If I only ever made this one type of smoothie, I'd consider the Vitamix worth the $$$.  Can't wait to try out more (and more advanced) recipes!

(no I am not a paid advertiser...I was a total skeptic before the Yammering threads...)

Glad you tried it ziggy!

I put soy milk, raspberries, banana, mango and spinach today, slowly upping spinach, I think I was close to to cups today!
