Potatoes plus butter and sour cream is always delicious!

RIGHT??? :D But all that pickle juice? LOL
That sounds disgusting, but I don't like pickles.
I dunno. I really like pickles, but...
I'd try it if someone else made it, but I don't think I'd make it myself.
That sounds amazing! I love dill pickle potato chips so this sounds like a slam dunk.
Try it and report back!
I like the idea of dill pickle soup, but I don't like the looks of that recipe. I strongly dislike the texture of soups thickened with flour and often it ends up tasting of raw flour. And for a potato soup, it's ridiculously unnecessary... just puree all or some of the soup.

I agree. It should only be used as a vomit inducer.

OMG! When I read the recipe I just looked at the ingredients and assumed they were making a roux with all that butter and flour. But, they are whisking 1/2 cup of flour into sour cream and using that to thicken? Nightmare.
That said, I think dill and potatoes are great friends. I'd just make your favorite potato soup recipe and add a TON of fresh dill.
Argh! I went to the store and got everything except the pickles.

:D
So I made it and loved it. It reminds me of a New York deli, I was craving a pastrami and Swiss on rye to go with it. I only used 3 T butter because I don't like too rich stuff, I cut the flour down to two T after reading y'alls' comments, and I didn't use any of the added salt. It's plenty salty. I used Claussen pickles and pickle juice.

Awesome!
I guess if you like Rye and salty food, this would be great.
I made it too, and it was FANTASTIC.
ooooh i forgot all about it!
I'm kind of a pickle-holic, so this one is going on the to-try list.
