And it turned out ok?? Adam dropped mine last night, but it was my fault for putting it on the edge of the counter. I almost passed out when I heard it hit the floor. I was trying to take cupcake pictures, and was having a hard time with the focus (manual and auto) but I'm really hoping that was just my lighting (it was nighttime and my kitchen was a little bit dark). Now  worried.

It sounds like the lens may have taken the brunt of the impact.  Do you have another lens you can try?

Mine fell from a mantle when it was in a padded bag. It still got damaged, both the lens and the body. I had both repaired.

I took it to the photographer who did the kids' pictures and she took a few shots with it and said it seemed fine. The good news is that it's covered by out home insurance just in case (I ended up buying the D7000).

Dh just told me this yesterday. He texted me to tell me our renters insurance covers us worldwide (so we're covered in Saudi) AND my camera is insured. I had to laugh because he knows how I feel about my camera. He didn't tell me "your wedding ring is covered", he told me "AND your camera is covered!!". :D

My very first camera was a Kodak 110

I was on my 8th grade field trip to Washington DC. I remember clearly thinking during that trip that I really enjoyed photography and wanted to do more of it.

I was running on a downhill through Arlington National Cemetery, trying to get to the bus before it left - and the camera popped out of my pocket, hit the ground hard, and slid down the rest of the hill for what seemed like 100 feet but was probably closer to 50 or so.

I picked it up and took a picture with it to see if it worked...

it did.

I had a 110 camera at about that age. I loved it!and I loved how the film roll was shaped, not like the 35mm.
