Gym stuff & 4 miles on the treadmill.

Eco Ellen

Ten miles at 5 am.  Fifteen degrees.  I won't lie.  I was thrilled to be done.

Belgian Lace

3.5 on the treadmill, because the windchill is bananas.

Decided to start posting here again.........we'll see how long that lasts.

Anyway, last week I ran 12 miles at MP (8:00, but did 7:41), a 22-miler, 6x1mi at 6:45, and assorted other runs of 4-10 miles.

Today I ran 7 miles w/ 1@630, 3@MP (7:55), 1@630 -- ran on treadmill b/c the track wasn't clear.............more later

Running has mostly been going well lately due to the colder temps -- I  :heartbeat: winter!!!

Track workout today!

800M warmup
20 minutes dynamic stretching
2 x 150M @90%
2 x 200M @90%
10 mins rest
2 x 300M @ 80%
800M cooldown
15 minutes work with the starting blocks

Temp was 20 degrees, but there were strong winds.  Also about 1/4 inch of snow on the track.  Perfect weather for distance running, but not really conducive to a quality sprint workout.  Time to find an indoor track.  :(

5 miles, reasonable temperatures, unlike what is at home.

i am party

8 miles in 20-deg (F) and wind. Good run, but felt last night's 6x800 in the legs.

We just experienced a mini cyclone over here.
Gale force wind and horizontal rain coming from all directions - talk about crazy weather, the temp. went from 38c to 24c and after the cyclone past (only about 10 minutes) it went back up to a sweaty 35c.

Now for the geriatric jog; got out about 6.00am and did about 5km. then off to the gym and put in about 60min on the weights.

I did speed work today, but it was sort of my own brand.  I did six 400's and my watch was set up for a track so I had 1 minute rest between intervals.  But I'm not at a track, so I looked for the flattest spot around here and a 400 meter section of road that is mostly flat but with a net decline/incline depending on direction.  So I used the decline for the 400 and the incline for the rest.  Overall I think it worked out ok.  Probably too much rest between intervals, and a false split speed for the decline but it was still hard work.  Overall I ran 3.5 miles, including warm-up.

8-mile run home. Seventeen degrees and insanely windy.

Welcome back Joan.

10K in -24C/-11F windchills.  Slow and easy with a mild throat cold.
