Newport Marathon, October 11

There has been a fight between two race-management companies to gain the town's good graces, which apparently landed them both in time out:

Since that March 13 news piece, both companies have been taking registrations for a marathon on the same day in the same town.

I lived a block from the marathon finish area last year and watched the finishers come in. I think the trampled dunes were from my cousin's  daughters wedding reception at the beach. They're a pretty rowdy bunch.
