My family went to Disney when I was 9 or 10 years old.  River Country was, by far, my favorite part of the trip.  I always wondered what happened to it.  Thanks for posting!

Abandoned theme parks and ski areas evoke strong nostalgia in me.

One that never was. Abandoned is an interesting series, they cover everything from the decline of Blockbuster to various malls and department stores that went under.

"Ruled by drunk teenage employees and frequented by drunker teenage guests ... the end result lay somewhere between Lord of the Flies and a Saw movie."

The scientific consensus might, of course, be wrong. If the history of science teaches anything, it is humility. But our grandchildren will surely blame us if they find that we understood the reality of climate change and failed to do anything about it.
