Anyone make Shrub?

I just mixed up a simple strawberry recipe. Can I add it to booze? What should I put it in? This recipe had one cup macerated strawberries,  one cup sugar and one cup champagne vinegar,  it's supposed to sit overnight and then get strained.

It was really good in my vodka tonic,  it's very sweet and very tart. I will try it in just water as a daytime beverage. I didn't let it sit overnight I don't think it needed it. Apparently shrub is an old fashioned thing.

Shrub? Is that what they're called? I made some basil/mint syrup a few days ago it's quite good with spiked lemonade.

I'm going to be making basilcello as soon as I get a chance to get some Everclear for it.
