Honey Badger

I ran my first race tonight.
I've struggled with getting back to running regularly for nearly a year now, so I wasn't where I'd hoped to be condition-wise. Not a big deal race; it was supposed to be a 4 miler (yes, I'm only a lightweight runner!), but it was actually almost 5. Plus I walked/ran a mile from my car to the starting area.
Anyway, this was a huge race. Well over 10,000 people, I think.  I saw bib numbers higher than 10,000. Mine was in the 300's because my company is a big sponsor so we got a large group early registration.
So I ran it. Started out with several co-workers, but ended up with just me and one of them as the others were slower or walking.  I don't even know my time as I forgot to stop my watch at the finish line, but under an hour. The camaraderie is incredible.  My friend and I really helped each other.
My feet hurt.  But I'm pleased.
I'll probably do another. 😊
