How long would eggs still be good after their expiration date for hard boiling? Egglands Best claims they "stay fresher longer".

I go weeks and even months sometimes past sell by date (not expiration date, btw.) If you float the eggs in water you can tell if they are still good or not. If they sink to the bottom of the bowl, they are still good. If they float on top, they are bad. I did this for 3 eggs over the summer....6 weeks past sell by date. I wanted to make cookies and I needed 2 eggs. First one dropped, the 2nd clearly floated, the 3rd sank. There was a clear distinction between the sinker/floater.

Yep, it's all about the float test.
People put a lot less effort into picking apart evidence that confirms what they already believe.

Ice Cream

don;t pay attention to it, either.

Our chickens constantly create hidden nests around the property.  We'll be trimming back a hedge and find a cache of 15 eggs.  DW and the kids will clean them and float test them since we have no idea if they are fresh or three months old.

Magic Microbe

I eat eggs way past their date all the time.
