yum!  that Moosewood recipe needs to happen soon in my house...as soon as I get a new freaking oven  :'(

Is your oven on the fritz also?

diablita

Yes!  For like 6 weeks now.  And apparently the fix is like $500 installed so we're ordering a new oven tomorrow.  planned obsolescence.  grumble grumble

Ours came with the house so it's a Kitchen Aid gas oven, like 10 years old.  We're getting a GE now.

Yep, same story here. The electrical part is fried. The stovetop works but not the oven. $500 repair. So, I'm buying a new one. When I get around to it. It's just super annoying. That's 2 out of the 3 brand new appliances I bought 3 years ago (diff mfg even) that have had the same problem.

diablita

Ouch, so sorry.  And sounds like the same thing.  What brand and how long have you had it for?  Ours: Kitchen Aid and it's about 10 years old.

Frigidaire & 3.5 years old. But it was a floor model I only paid 250$ for. But, still. 😧

oh, and i make chicken paillard with some regularity.  use the easiest recipe you can find (there are many online), and be sure to dredge the cutlets in dijon mustard before breading.

The first recipe that pops up on Google is from Rachael Ray...

Is there something up with your electrics service?

That's what I'm wondering. I pretty much have to re-wire my whole house so probably.

diablita

Not in our case, MM.  It's planned obsolescence for sure.  DH has replaced two oven parts and has a third one arriving today.  I had no oven to bake tasty things for the High Holidays and now I'm wondering if I'll ever have an oven again.  :'(

Dev-- you're trying to fix it? I'm heading toward replace at this point.

diablita

My DH is really, really, really stubborn about this kind of thing.  I'm humoring him for this one more thing...though the part didn't arrive yesterday and he goes out of town for the weekend tomorrow. :(
