Ran the USATF Masters Half Marathon yesterday, in conjunction with the Dexter Ann Arbor Half Marathon in Michigan.

Did 1:19:06 (6:03/mile) for 90.2 % age grade. We had an age group battle, that's for sure. I hung back for a few miles, eased into position, and then put the hammer down at 5 miles. That was good to get a gap but I paid some dues in the pain cave from about mile 9 to the finish. Just focused on an age 40-44 guy who was right ahead--telling myself don't look back, look ahead. Was totally soaked from the early rains, shorts were saturated and heavy throughout, creating some chaffing havoc. We also won the team title for our age group, which makes it twice as fun.

The Dexter Ann Arbor Half is a really good race, hope they do it again for USATF.

Wobbly on the stage after 13 miles and 2 IPAs

I'll stick to running, thank you.

Congrats.  Hope the chaffing heals fast.   :ok:

Holy shit that is an excellent time!  :bow2:  And congrats on breaking 90% WAVA, extremely impressive.  Would you ever consider T&F Nationals? I'm looking at outdoor nationals in Iowa 2019.

Thanks, I'm still considering USATFs this year in Spokane, but leaning to the road mile in Flint to help make sure that our team wins--we have to win all the remaining team races to win the overall title. And next year my big goal is WMA track and field championships in Toronto. But a 5000 in Des Moines (assuming it's there) might be as good tune up for a 10000.
