friends, what am i missing?  the shower will be held in the early afternoon.

beverages (soft drinks, wine, bubbly, and coffee and tea)
hot apps : 1. green olive and goat cheese toasts; 2. french onion and gruyere toasts; 3. butternut squash tart with chile honey; 4. devils on horseback
cold apps : 1. cheese tray; 2. veggie tray with roasted beet dip, spinach dip, hummus, and whipped feta dip
salads : 1. chickpea salad with lemon and parmesan; 2. chicken salad
desserts : 1. fruit salad; 2. cake

i have been planning for this thing for so long, i feel as though i am forgetting something critically important.

Yes.  I'd have such a martini in one hand and a green olive/goat cheese toast in the other.

mmmm those sound great!

It reminds me a little of Pissaladière, which is one of my all time favorite appetizers because it is so easy and people always seem to get such a big kick out of it in all it's simple glory.

I hope the party was fantastic!
