How do you feel about Cobb salad?  :D  From my perfunctory googling, I didn't realize hutspot/hutsepot involved meat.  The recipe I looked at seemed like a way to make mashed potatoes more interesting by the addition of other veggies.

Hutsepot is the Dutch name, hochepot is the French name for the same basic dish, but there are many regional versions within Belgium (blingual Dutch/French) and very northern France.

It tastes so bad that I always added a lot of local mustard, Tierenteyn, to maks the taste. Mind you, Tierenteyn is the kind of mustard that brings tears to your eyes.

I think you are mixing it up with zurkelpuree, another horror from my childhood.

Oh my, now I want some Tierenteyn mustard!  Unfortunately, it seems that would require a trip to Ghent.  :sigh:

It's been a long while of repeated meals, but on today's menu, behold:

Kool-Aid Pie

When can I come over?

Honestly, that seems tame by Newfie Homestyle Cooking and Baking standards.

It's not the Kool-Aid flavoring so much as the filling which is made entirely of Cool Whip.   :yikes:

Anita made french toast bagels with mixed berry cream cheese and maple syrup. Everyone in the comments thinks it looks yummy. Anita is a moderator, though, so they might just be buttering her up...

I am not certain, but it looks like Julia is eating liver and onions and mashed potatoes out of a bowl?

Looks like a casserole lid to me.
It really does.

And great to see Anita's work again!

A tribute to Ukraine?
