Double run today. I thought I could beat the coming storm, so I headed out. After a quarter mile it started pouring. So I cut my losses and sprinted home. A few hours later it stopped raining and I jogged 3.3 miles.

I did 60 miles and ran 3 workouts last week (LT, CV, V02) and almost stepped onto a rattlesnake (like 3' from a snake that was about 4' long) at the end of a hot run yesterday morning. Taking today off and then a light week in preparation for 5K time trial/virtual over the 4th. Then I'm taking a bit of a break.
I'll stick to running, thank you.

10 miles at 9:30 pace.
I have a 1.5 mile loop at the end of my usual course so can make a 7 mile, 8.5 mile or 10 mile run with just adding loops.
Still liking every other day running with stepped up cross-training on the in-between days.
Alternating 10M endurance and 7M LT runs averages out to ~30 miles a week.
Might do that until racing is back and then start a targeted race plan like 10K schedule 1 in Pfitzger and Latter which starts at 30M per week.

Is was a perfect summer's early morning run. Sunny, not too hot, very little traffic on the roads and just a few other runners, walkers and pet owners on the recreation trail. 13.13K
