it's cold and rainy here and i was of the mind to bake something.  and we have about 50 gallons of applesauce in the pantry. 

this went together super fast.  it's now cooling on the counter.  the house smells lovely. 


i subbed brandy for the rum (and will not use the icing recipe, so can't comment on that)..
