Ran in the USA Club XC championships this weekend. Primary goal was to help us win the team title, after that if I had a good day to podium/medial individually.

Check and check. It was warm and humid in Tallahassee. We took it out easier than normal and ran as a pack. Moving from 20th - 22nd (3 score in our division) at a half km to top 10 by 3K. I ended up 3rd (6:11/mile) on the 3 loop/8K course, and my teammates were 2nd and 7th overall and we crushed it for the team win. Great day and a lot of fun to travel with 17 runners from our club.

Almost got stuck in Dallas overnight due to missed connection, but saved by standby. Return trip was harder and more taxing than the race.

Open/Pro races were pretty cool to watch in person.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

Looks like there was prize money too? Semi-pro? :)

If you have really good day you can maybe pay for your trip to these events. I'll get something. They do XC a little differently than the road races. More team money for XC. Scoring well age grading is where the money is, especially at the road races where it's $500 for 1st, $400 for 2nd down to 5th place.

They drug tested 1st and 2nd in my race, and those guys had to wait almost 4 hours to produce enough sample.
