Robot Half Marathon Record

Well, it's over for us mere humans. A robot competing against flesh-and-blood runners shattered the world record at a Beijing half-marathon on Sunday.

The winning humanoid robot finished the Half Marathon in 50:26,surpassing the current men's world record of 57:20 held by Ugandan runner Jacob Kiplimo.

It's a rapid advance for the technology as just a year ago the robot runners best time was 2:40+. With many robots falling or needed a lot human assistance.
