Ran the Mississauga Marathon this morning. Goal was just to finish and up my marathon total to #94 in a quest to hit the Century mark.

Knew I wouldn't have a good time, due to actually working the Race Expo, with 12 hours on my feet on Friday, and ten hours on Saturday on a hard tile, granite surface. I could feel the tightness in my hip the first few miles, with very little energy in the legs.

Hit the half in 2:10, which was okay and what I expected. Things started really falling apart at 25K, slowing the pace and finally beginning a run/walk after 29K. Weather was ideal, sunny with starting temps at the high 40°Fs and going up to the mid 50°Fs at the finish.

Finish time was a personal worst of 4:52:38, 469/624 Overall, 344/456 Male and 2/3 M645-69   :D

A far cry from my 4:02:28 in Victoria last October. Training through this very tough winter was a problem as well.

At least not pushing it, means a quick recover. Muscle soreness is minimal.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

I wouldn't be able to run even a half marathon after that much time on feet, that's some grit!

5.3 relaxed miles and it was absolutely gorgeous out, 66°F mostly sunny and no wind. I drove in to town for the run and took a lap around the local Cherry Blossom festival. I'm finally getting some consistency, this was 6 days in a row, and I earned my day off tomorrow. Legs still feel heavier than they should but I have a feeling that sleeping in 2-3 hour chunks every night will do that to a person.

#94!  Now that's freaking awesome FE!  I did my 4 miles under beautiful blue skies today and a balmy 60° temperature. My only real goals this year for my running are not to quit and to run 8 miles on my 80th bday in September.

Ouch! But congrats on number 94!

I did an easy double, with 6.2 miles in the morning with a friend and then mid-day went out for a 3.5 mile shakeout run on the trails nearby.
