interesting.  How much was it?

It's either 1.99 or 2.99.  I have been trying it out on quite a few things and I think it might measure low, but we were talking this morning and for me, at least taking the photo and seeing a calorie count makes me at least mindful of what I am eating and putting in to my body.

Hooray yvonne-marie!

I didn't pick a goal weight, because I chose to pretend the scale did not exist, but my goal was that my tiniest pair of jeans, the ones I hadn't worn in a few years (and even then, only gingerly, with careful hang-drying) could be tossed into a hot dryer, and pulled on when dry without any problem. I am just geustimating the 20llbs, but I am quite certain I am, if anything, underestimating.

Thanks!

And I've been doing the same thing for my size versus my weight.  I don't want to get hung up on a number, and when I was my thinnest, I also wasn't all that active.  I have more muscle mass now than I did 20 years ago, so I have to account for that.  Funny about the pants - I was/am doing the same thing!   I have pants that I could wear but only if they were line-dried.  Now I toss them in the dryer at the highest heat to get them smaller.    :D

BonitaApplebum

I like using pants as a guideline, too. I have a couple of pairs of pre-kid pants that are my milestones for where my ass ought to be. They fit fine right now but I would like them to be loose.

Bolloxd

I didn't sleep worth a darn last night because of head congestion and it has made my throat & stomach feel bad.  blech.

I went out to pick up a few things for the kids and tried on a couple clothes myself.  First I can't find a 32D (or 32C) bra anywhere.  I don't think it exists....what a ridiculous size.  Then I tried on a dress because I know I'll need some interview clothes at some point.  It was a size 2, and fit perfectly yet I still couldn't bring myself to buy it.  I am a terrible shopper for my own clothes.  I don't think the head cold or Saturday shopping crowd helped my attitude.

I also skipped lunch while I was out so now I'm starving and the pack of jelly beans aren't cutting it.  Time for some leftover pasta.

Bolloxed, I am a terrible shopper for myself too. Given my druthers I would wear black all the time because it is so easy.

We went to run at the Headwaters with the dogs this morning. It was a nice run..blue skies and hardly anyone out. We did a little costco shop and then came home and made egg white scramble with spinach. Then I took a nap! I slept hard! I have to gather some tax stuff together today....have been putting it off and DH keeps asking me. I *may* attempt a 2nd workout later..Jillian dvd of some sort.

Confession rant: Ate healthy all day. Planned healthy supper later with DH. Worked out at gym this afternoon.

THEN I scarfed down a sleeve of Ritz crackers slathered in butter. One by one. Yum. Butter.

Thumbs sideways.  Tasty, but not pizza.  Edible, but not a meal to repeat often.

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

my cauliflower pizza was good!!!!! mushy, but good :D

Well, I did ok today. While making dinner (spaghetti squash) i was so hungry i ate some more of the pasta on the counter and then i ate 1/2 of DD's pita pizza (not too terrible, seeing as the spaghetti squash has like 10 calories in it :D ) I have a long run tomorrow, so it will be fine.

I would eat Ritz with butter OR with PB&J. Or with anything else, really. They rock.

So, breakfast tided me over until about 3pm and then? S.t.a.r.v.i.n.g. Low blood sugar raging bitch. Since I'm already having a splurgy day I decide to try the green monster smoothy you guys are raving about. I discover we have no bananas. I decide to try an apple instead. So, I put an orange, and an apple and 1/2 container of greek yogurt and the pb (won't do that again, ick) and some coconut milk into the blender. My blender sucks so it's taking a long time and then it's too thick so back in the blender with more milk until it's sort of a drinkable texture. Since I don't have a vitamix, it left me with tiny flecks of green stuck in my teeth- so it also required brushing my teeth after consuming. Suddenly, I'm thinking "monster" isn't a horrible name. But, since this one smoothie is equal to my breakfast, morning snack and half of my afternoon snack... perhaps it's just as well I didn't fall in love since it's too many calories for me to incorperate regularly anyway.

merigayle

that sounds so nasty  :D

oh and ritz + butter is DELICIOUS!!!!! I learned that at summer camp. And wheat thins and butter, yummo!

Aren't Ritz "butter" crackers anyway?

Yes :D

And I thought the very same thing to myself. But that didn't stop me.

Today when I hopped on the scale (notice how I don't mind hopping on the scale when I am feeling strong about my eating!) I was down 3 lbs from yesterday!  I knew my zero loss from my weigh in Weds would catch up to me.  This is just what I need to keep me on the straight and narrow during the game today... I need to be careful to not use it as an excuse to have room to indulge.

I think maybe, maybe I am just finally grasping the concept that successful weight loss is 80-85% food and no amounts of exercise can offset gobs and gobs of fried foods, sugar and fats!

Breakfast wasn't as bad as it could have been. I ended up having a veggie omelete. It was topped with cheese and had potatoes, toast (wheat) and fruit on the side. I started with the fruit and ate about 1/3 of the omelete, maybe 1/4 of the potatoes, 1/2 the toast most of the fruit. I'm starting to realize that following my eating plan just changes things for me. I am full sooner and I can only eat a couple of bites of something very rich- like full fat cheese. This is heartening.

I do think it's great that you resisted temptation. But the last sentence is kind of sad to me. I guess I just don't want to get to the point where I don't enjoy good food and am satisfied with mediocre "low fat" stuff. I don't mean this to sound snarky or anything. I guess it's just something I think about when I'm trying to change eating habits (cos I really try not to diet since that usually doesn't last once the "diet" is over.) I'm definitely mindful of not wasting calories on something junky like cheap chocolate or something I don't even really like, though.

And as for my goals, it's funny. As soon as the wlc was over, I found I was less hungry! Isn't that weird?! I've been eating at my calories (or under once exercise is figured in!) all week. I'm down almost another pound, too! And, I'm back down to the next decade on the scale. I really want to get at least another 15 down before the summer. 11 mile long run planned for later this morning (once breakfast settles).  :nails: After yesterday's tough 5 miles, I'm nervous! Silly, huh? I've got my Amy's no cheese pizza all ready to go for after, though. (I will add cheese!)

Game Day, people!!!!!

DH has a million snacks planned. I did my long run yesterday and was going to rest today but am thinking maybe I ought to push my rest day to Monday and get out there today for a while to do some preemptive damage control.

merigayle

MoS-- i agree, it is all about calories, not as much as exercise.

I had some toast before my long run today and it was one of the most delicious things in the world :D Salad for lunch and maybe a little rice.
