Thank god there is no Panera here!  Good on you Meri, for not eating all the deliciousness in sight!

DD insists on taking a bag home, and she eats some of it, but sheesh. i threw her iced cookie out this morning, she only ate a bit of it. I think all that is left is the bread and i will slice and freeze later. i use the bread for bfast for my long runs, i feel as if i am running 15-25 miles, i deserve toast for breakfast :D

Dear Calvin,

Thank you very much for the size-12 grey skirt.  I was so happy when I first tried it on.  I didn't think it would zip, because most of my clothes were size 14.  But it fit, if snuggly, and made my ass look wonderful.  I wore that skirt almost every week for just exactly one year.  It was a frustrating year because my weight wasn't budging as fast as I wanted it to.  But my skirt made me feel good about myself.

This morning I put it on, and realized I had to say goodbye.  It just won't stay on my hips, and I didn't want to risk an at-work wardrobe malfunction.  So I stroked it tenderly and put it in the Salvation Army pile.  I'll invest in another one once I get to my goal weight.

PS I'm taking the size-10 suit pants to the tailor to be taken in.  I'm not ready to let them go yet.

I have my HIIT class this morning! After missing Tuesday's (stupid hackers) I am really looking forward to it.
I managed to stay on track yesterday.  My goal today is the same. Nothing to eat other than what I bring...a banana, apple w pb, berries and chicken soup.

What is the plan for everyone else??

Sad to see the skirt go, but great job!!  All of you inspire me.  I hope to join this thread with some of my own progress soon.

i just have to share that this recipe is great and i ate it for bfast. I also omitted the agave (60 cals) and subbed with a tbs of apple sauce (unsweetened/natural). I also find the lemon extract to be superior to using vanilla. Soooo yummy.

Let's hear it for future smaller skirts!!  Yeah!

My plan today is cereal breakfast, grapes and string cheese for snacks, bean and barley lunch.  Tofu is marinating for tonight to go with broccoli slaw.  That's it.  Got to save up for my birthday this weekend!  :)

That's awesome, Mini - great job!

I was supposed to get up and run this morning, but Reid decided to wake up at 2 AM and cry for half an hour. No idea what that was all about, but it totally messed with my plans. Hmph. I need to figure out how to handle things like that so that I can still get up and get my workouts in. I have the gym tonight, so I'll be okay, but I need to get my cardio workouts in!

Smoothie and waffles for breakfast, an apple and leftover chicken, orzo, and broccoli for lunch, soup and a sandwich of some kind for dinner. I have yogurt, clementines, and cherry tomatoes for snacks, too. And DFW. Lots and lots of DFW.

Oooh, that looks yummy!  And I love the idea of single-servings so you don't have to deal with the temptation of eating more than you should.

Yeah, the alarm went off at 5, I took my temp, and apparently went right back to sleep. I don't remember taking the thermometer out of my mouth, but it was on the nightstand when I dragged out of bed at 6.

I'm going to have to figure out how to get past it, though.

Mini- I know the feeling of saying goodbye to clothes that you like a lot but are just too big. Definitely bittersweet.
Debba- I'm in headache land with you today. Any chance you can snag a nap somewhere in there today?

So, so, so mad at myself. I was great all day yesterday until a friend called me to see if I wanted to meet her and a couple of other people for a beer. I figured I'd just have some seltzer or tea and be fine. Well... 2 pints and plate of cheese sticks later...  :incazzato:

Just ate my cereal breakfast (trying half tj's fiber cereal and half 9 whole grain crunch). I have soup and a sandwich for lunch. An orange and wasabi almonds for morning snack and probably more fiber cereal for my afternoon snack (it's tennis day today!). Not sure about dinner. Maybe a stirfry.

OMG, a nap would be fabulous. Unlikely, unless I figure out how to wedge myself into the back of my car at lunch, but it's nice to imagine. :)

Unhappy problem - my lunch doesn't sound good right now. :( I don't know what *does* sound good (other than chocolate), but leftover chicken, orzo, and broccoli doesn't sound good.

I figured it out - it's the sweet I want. I normally have a PB&J, and I think I'm after the sweet of the jelly. That's why the chicken doesn't sound good.

I have honey-banana yogurt and clementines. I hope that's enough.

I only know it's true because i have to kick my own @ss on a regular basis. I find that if I just buck up and eat the healthy thing instead, I'm usually fine. But, my hungry brain "reaches" for french fries or candy when it's hungry. I am working on retraining the "I'm hungry" signal away from "I want candy".

Here's something from the i-diet book you could try. She takes 1 square of bittersweet/dark chocolate (I think it's 10grams? I'll double check when I get home) and 1/4 cup of fiber one type cereal. Nuke the chocolate and cereal until the chocolate is melty (takes about a minute in my microwave, but ymmv). Stir together and let cool. You can eat this as is. Or, you can add a couple tbs of low-fat whipped cream (15 calories/tbs) and 1/2 cup of frozen raspberries. Or you can add a little flavored extract to the cereal and chocolate mix. I have also mixed in 2% plain greek yogurt. You could add something like stevia if you wanted (I don't find I need it). I think it's about 100 calories.

Another favorite is 1/2 cup of applesauce (I made my own and it really makes this SO much better) with 1/4 cup of oat brand and a couple of tbs of light whipped cream. I often heat the applesauce and then have it over cold greek yogurt. Really yummy but still healthy.

I *know* it sounds weird, but it really does give me the sense of eating something sweet, creamy, and indulgent without actually eating junky food.

Either that, or I have a cup of tea- which is also surprisingly effective.

...and, if I don't have an acceptable desserty thing on hand and I'm really cravng something sweet- I promise myself to make a treat later. Sometimes I still want it, sometimes I don't.

I also bought some SF hard candies to keep at my desk. They are pretty reasonably calories wise and sort-of do the trick. I ate them all though and I'm going to try not to replace them (would rather just break the afternoon sweet habit altogether!).

I'm eating the chicken. It's actually pretty good - the orzo has absorbed a lot of the sauce so it's yummy. I still want something sweet, but I've got my fingers crossed for the yogurt and/or clementines.

Those other ideas are great, though! Especially the one about promising myself a treat later if I still want one. I just have to come up with a treat that's not necessarily junk food, since I gave it up for Lent.
