Thanks, bolloxd - I was doing fine with the allergies, even as bad as they've been, until the mold shot up yesterday.  :nono:

Of course Mini obsessive is wondering how this stupid fracture isn't going to throw me off track.

Years ago, I broke a big toe and could not run/walk for 6 weeks.  then eased back into it.  I was not very hungry because I did not exercise, and as a result lost a bit of weight!  I also thought that the 6 weeks of forced rest did good for all the other parts of the body that usually get pushed hard.

I am now getting back into running after 2 months of inactivity.  No weight gain, but I watched it carefully.

Good luck, you do not have to gain weight.

2nd day of fit bit.. still loving it!  We did not walk at lunch today, so just my average work . copier.. bathroom etc was about 3200 steps..

When I got home, I went for a 5 mile run and am doing laundry, which involves stairs!

Right now I am at 13502 steps,8.35 miles,2285 cal, and 44 flights of stairs.. I picked lot's of hills for my run because they translate to stairs....it sets me my goals automatically.. this will get reset based on my activity level after a while..
10,000 steps, 10 flights of stairs, 2095 calories burned and 5 miles covered.  I've been over both days, but really.. without my lunch time work, I have to work hard to get to 10k steps!!

I do love it too.. it sends random motivational mesages like "rock on"  "keep going"  It's fun!

Mini, how are you feeling today?

Today is going to be hard.  I'm bored out of my mind at work, I don't have much to do today (I'm still pretty new, and I need more to do, and my boss has been out all week and I have everything done).  I eat when I'm bored.  I'm going to try not to do that.

Today should be fine for me, it's this weekend that I'm dreading. We're going to my parents' for Easter. BBQ for lunch, according to my mom, and then a big party with her side of the family on Saturday night - burgers and really unhealthy sides. And then on Sunday, we're doing a big breakfast - some kind of egg casserole, sausages, cinnamon rolls or biscuits and gravy... that kind of thing.

Gah.  :sigh:

My coworker brought in chocolate covered strawberries today.  Yesterday she brought in chocolate and caramel covered pretzels.  It's ironic, she owns a candy company and works for a child nutrition program.  Her candy is HELLA good, I can't resist it.

What would make a good afternoon snack - any opinions? I'm thinking about ditching the pretzels from my lunch and having veggies and hummus instead, but then that leaves me without an afternoon snack option. I usually have a little thing of Greek yogurt for my morning snack.

Courtney

cottage cheese?
string cheese?
fruit?

These are often my go-to afternoon snacks when I don't have a bucket of candy in front of me.

debbatx

Not a big cottage cheese fan, but string cheese is good, as is fruit. I usually have an apple with lunch, and fruit in my morning smoothie (if I make it), but really, more fruit wouldn't kill me. I'm trying to up my veggie intake, but I don't think I can do veggies at lunch and then MORE veggies for a snack a few hours later.

Fruit is always a winner in my book.  :)

:heartbeat: cottage cheese.  In fact, I bought some baked lays with my sandwich at subway today, specifically with the intent of scooping up my FF cottage cheese onto them for my afternoon snack.  Nom nom nom.  I'd prefer ruffles, but lays were my only choice.

I also have some grapes in the freezer for later.  Have you tried frozen grapes?  They are like little mini slushies in every bite.

debbatx

If it were possible to get grapes away from my kid long enough to freeze any, that's an awesome idea. :)

One of my fav afternoon snacks is an apple with peanut butter & a few raisins on top.

It has been a great day today.  I managed to get myself pulled together this morning (dress & make-up) to look nice for DH's b-day today - typically I'm a slob till the early afternoon.  He really liked all of the gifts, and me & the kids decorated his card & gift wrap paper with finger paint last night.  I made some bacon, eggs & cheese biscuits for breakfast (I only had a little).  The kids got to color easter eggs.  We got to video chat with his family in England.  Have enjoyed the birthday shag while kids nap, and now we're out on the deck in the sun.  Pavlova for dessert after a grilled steak & salad dinner....movie this evening on the tv after kids go to bed.   :preen:

Heh.  I take mine to work and put them in the freezer there, because while I don't have a kid, I have a husband who will totally steal them!  :D

i eat grapes for snack, and apples. I also have my lunch in two parts, so kinda like a snack.

Grapes are possibly Reid's favorite food. He LOVES them.

I've been LOVING cottage cheese lately!  The texture freaked me out until someone pointed out that its basically the same as riccotta.

Ideal weight calculation I came across today

(square of your height in cm) x 20 = minimum healthy weight

(square of your height in cm) x 25 = maximum healthy weight

Fighting boredom eating, and will likely indulge in a little Easter treaty today and or tomorrow.  Should I increase dairy a bit to get extra calcium for bone healing?  Do cadbury mini eggs count as dairy?

I want to hear about Passover meals!

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

She's an awful, awful human being.

I tend to trust Mini on these issues
