There are area running groups, but none near my house at convenient times, unfortunately. Or, they're for competitive runners, which I decidedly am not, unless I'm racing for ice cream. :)

This is why I think I need a really awesome reward to work towards. I just can't think of anything good.

I think that IRL, we'd be fast friends who race for ice cream together :D  You crack me up!

Spa day?
Fun new, expensive shoes?
Gadget of some sort?
Trip?

debbatx

Hmmmmm. DH and I are planning an anniversary trip in September. Maybe something related to that?

How about a day at the spa?

debbatx

Maybe....

...but I feel like I need something that's more immediate. Like, if I work out in the mornings for a month, I get to buy X or something - but I don't know what X would be.

Lululemon clothing!  That's going to be my reward if I ever loose these last stubborn pounds!

debbatx

I have a bit more than a "few" to lose for Lululemon, but that's a great longer-term goal. :) I'm thinking a spa day. Or half-day. :)

with my schedule and DH, 5am is really the only good option for me to get in more miles than i am now. DD refuses the jogging stroller and flips out if i am on the treadmill and even if i watch her kids shows on the tv, she is climbing on it and crying for her turn. it is tough at this age!

i fell prey to the Panera box today and had some bites of cookies and a bit of muffin. i am so stressed today. DH reminded me again that he hates his job and that if i need surgery it needs to be soon because of his insurance (in case of losing his job or changing jobs). sigh

Oh i agree. I hope he finds a better job soon but right now we are in the middle of refinancing and now this, so he has to stay put. So i am planning on feeling better in the morning and running at 5:30.

I hope he finds a better job, too - it sucks to hate your job - but jeeeeez.

yeah i know. suck it up!! CTFU!!!!!!   :grr:

Tell him that he can quit when he finds another job with good benefits to replace it. Until then he will just have to act like a grownup and CTFU since taking care of ones family trumps job satisfaction.  :D

But I am a bitch....

Oh boy...  so I was just asked to be in a wedding this fall.  Which means bridesmaid dresses and lots of pictures.   :yikes:  I'd like to not look like I do right now.

I'm thrilled to be a part of this (it's DH's cousin, and DH is the best man), but I'm quite paranoid about the dress/pictures.

Lanarkshire with an L

Ooh, Courtney, welcome to the wedding club! :P As MM or Jamers put it in another thread, the wedding is a good way to have a set goal date. Helps keep me on track for sure.

Well, except today. Holy schnikey! Today was a day off from Jillian (planned). I wanted to run yesterday, but it was raining later than it said it would. Then today, I was just too exhausted after work. I would have gone before, but it rained all day. So, I caved and ate a full size butterfinger this afternoon. I needed some sugar! And then I opened the last box of girl scout cookies to eat with a cup of tea (one serving of trefoils.) Not killer per se, but it was about 450 extra cals between the two things that I didn't need (that's like 4 miles running!) I totally blame Aunt Flow for the craving (and myself for giving in.)  :sigh:

OMG. I have thin mints in the freezer. I'd forgotten.  :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic:

My mom had tons of thin mints at her place when I went to help her.  I ate them all.  Also every other cookie she had including arrowroot cookies which had gone past stale and chewy to the powdery stage  :D  She has to be gluten free now.  It was a mercy eating!

I'm so impressed with you guys even trying to work out that early. Seems like I just can't get going in the morning so I try to work it in through out the day. Today I did 1/2 hour on the treadmill in the morning and then another 1/2 hr after dinner. I've never owned a treadmill before and I know I would never have gotten my butt to the gym after dinner.
Heh. I read you guys' posts and think man am I ever lazy  :D

Mmm thin mints. I've actually been making peppermint ice tea and it's helped me not want soda so badly.

Onawhim -That is dedication for following through with a mercy eating.   :D
Lanarkshire - All bets are off during AF.  Allow yourself the rough day and try to get back going again tomorrow.
Courtney - its great to have a goal date, you'll do just fine!
Debba - Step away from the thin mints!  Brush your teeth & go to bed instead.
LM- I rarely workout after dinner.  Once I sit down I am usually done for the day.

So I scarfed down a steak, taters, corn & some garlic bread for dinner....and Fruit Loops for an evening snack.  I think it is a combo of needing food from today's run plus nervous eating.  I've got almost everything packed.... a few deliveries tomorrow and maybe an emergency dash around town for a sports bra.  DH is *finally* accepting the fact I'm going away for a couple days.  I really hope it doesn't rain Fri/Sat.  At least not a lot.
