Thanks, VP. Reese's Minis and Whatchamacalits are actually two different things. Both delicious, though, LOL. :D

And I'd give my right arm for some of each right now.

Snap out of it, missy!   Write down some goals instead.  :)

I can always count on you for tough love, caito. Goal-free at the moment.

i have no motivation lately. sleep has been poor and DD a handful, that could be it. And DH cranky monster. Sigh.

Yeah, Reid has definitely been challenging lately. Blargh. Sleep has FINALLY gotten better for him, though.

Well, let's do this thing, chicken wing!  (does anyone else say that, or is it just me?)

My goals, because clearly hoarding them vaguely in my head is not doing the trick:

Lose 10 lbs by Oct 6th.  That should be doable, right?  The smaller part of this goal is to track my calories DAILY.
Run a 5K on Sept 8th (walk/run) and run/run a 5K on Oct 27th.
Cook at home more.  Specifically, eat out once per week.  This is going to be hard for us.

debbatx

I've never heard that, but LOL!

Okay, let's see.... I hesitate to commit to a specific number of pounds lost, because I can do everything perfectly and then get my period that week and I'm effed. So, what *can* I control?

By October 6th (good pick, that's my bday!):

1. Complete C25K already. Jesus. It's taken long enough.
2. Have a next step in training decided on
3. Gone to the gym for all my scheduled training sessions - *I* will not cancel, except for the two days around our anniversary trip.
4. No binges
5. Eat out once per week - I'll have to get DH on board with this so it's a little less in my control. Hmmm.

These are great goals.  I agree that basing a goal on a number on the scale can be counterproductive.

And add in being kind to yourself.  If you slip up, don't beat yourself up and throw in the towel.  Start again with your next choice.  :)

I'm not so good at the being kind part. One thing at a time.

Ok -- I've been lurking in the thread but not participating for a while.  Can I put down some goals too?

I have a lot of non health related goals but here are the two most important in terms of food and exercise:

I'm 8 lbs down since June -- I want to go down another 8 by Oct. 1.
Consistently run (6 days/week) and build a strong base for marathon training beginning in November.

My progress so far today?

Ooooh, cheetos. Yeah, I've been lured in by their siren call.

i am really wishy washy on running this race Sunday. It is free btw. My hang up? MOMMY GUILT  :argh: wtf? I know DH would not hesitate to worry about leaving me all day to go off to do something like this, so why do i? and i plan on taking DD to the amusement park on monday if she wants anyways :D

Yeah, it is hard. Hell, I feel guilty leaving the house for a 30-minute run.
