Schrödinger’s Bat

you don't need to be running all over hell's half-acre to fix his screw up.

Meri, and I say this with love, you are turning into your MIL.

You are absolutely filling the role his mother did by doing everything, fixing everything, etc. Stop it!

well, i stopped picking up after him, no longer do his laundry (except maybe towels), stopped paying most of his bills, won't make appts for him, no longer cook for him or prepare him lunch, no longer make his coffee, won't run errands for him unless it is somewhere i am going anyways, etc. So I feel like I have made some progress! however, the cookie was more about DD's anticipated heartbreak than cleaning up his errors.

That sounds like good progress! And I understand wanting to protect your DD.

yeah i have pretty much stopped doing most things for him once DD was born, though i think the laundry was before that, LOL. DH pretty much raised himself, latchkey kid from kindergarten on. Not sure how he survived, I think it took hm 6 years to finish highschool because he just did not go and his mom did not care if he went, etc. (obviously in this day and age, that would be illegal and she would be held accountable!) I am often shocked he made it this far in life ;) I only wonder how far he would have made it if had a parent who truly cared for his well being and success.  :sigh:

Run Amok

Gah. I am so far off track I can hardly stand it.  I am slowly gaining gaining gaining. I lost my early to rise mojo to go to the gym and I am just kind of stagnating.

Kick my ass please.

Please!?
I need some tough love.

Maybe focus on eating for a bit? Food is a huge piece of the equation for me! Start a new program you're excited about? Maybe where you are at is ok for now and take a ,break. Progress doesn't have to be linear.

I'm back at work - probably about 75% back to normal, but if I stayed home today, I'd have had to go back to the doctor to get a goddamned note because I'd have been out 3 days in a row.  :eyeroll: I'm hoping to get some rest this weekend and see how I feel about exercising on Monday. Right now, I'm vaguely regretting the coffee and mini-bagel I had for breakfast. It was one of those situations where nothing sounded good, but not eating/getting coffee would have been even worse, since I couldn't just go back to sleep. Ugh. If I could get rid of the massive knot in my shoulder, that would help, too. I slept on that side too much yesterday. Oops.

I do not recommend this virus, even though I dropped a few pounds because of it.

Thanks, meri! I suppose it could have been worse - this class of viruses (assuming I'm guessing right about what I had) is the same group that polio is in, so really, it could have been worse.

Yes, yes it would! I'll take a day of fever, a few days of body aches, and possibly a bit longer with the fatigue over polio any day.

No, sorry. It's a PB&J, veggies and hummus, and probably an apple. I have yogurt, almonds, and string cheese, too, as snacks.

Magic Microbe

Today is our work summer BBQ. I did all the planning and bought all the supplies but it still isnt really healthy. Hamburgers, sausages (which my dumb ass left sitting out last night so I had to steal our personal ones from the freezer), and garden burgers. I did buy a bunch of veggies to grill though.

merigayle

ditch the bread and cole slaw and it won't be too terrible.

Bolloxd

We just loaded 160 lbs of organic, grass-fed beef into the freezers.   :e)   It is my birthday gift from Dad.   :hah:  I guess we'll be having some type of beef for dinner tonight.

I've finished up my online training for now and started my wine drinking goal.  It's going well...one glass gets me hammered.   :preen:  My arms are freaking sore from push ups yesterday.  I'm also due to start my period today but no signs yet.  My luck it will happen tomorrow while at work.  Blah.    We did a short trail walk with the kids this morning, David absolutely LOVES running as fast as he can down the trails....so freaking cute.  Rachel will run too but she likes holding our hands.

I think they are back into the nap routine again.  Woohoo!

I knew there was a seething beast beneath the calm waters.  -Fionn

LOL, I love it - "Dear Dad, thanks for the side of beef for my bday. Love, Bolloxd"

That would be kind of awesome, except that I don't have room for it in my freezer.

SO glad they're back into the nap routine!

160 lb? Wow!

My brain is fried. And it's Restaurant Week, woot! So DH and I will be going out for dinner at the local restaurant tonight. Gotta support the local economy, you know... :D
