Well, D, sounds like the best possible outcome. Fingers still crossed though.

Nope, this one stays in the vault, but thanks for asking. Felling a might better after eating. Wish I'd run earlier, but I had nuthin left by the time I got home. Was supposed to go climbing tonight too ... But, I'm blowing off the world in favor of hiding under the covers. I even left the kitchen a mess's. It'll still be there tomorrow. ;)

B, training for a race is a great idea.

Running didnt help my tummy either. :( But at least I ran when I really, really didnt feel like it.

Yikes, diablita!  Hope it all turns out ok.

RA, those FlatOuts make really good flatbread pizzas, especially if you have a pizza stone or if you bake them for a few minutes before you add toppings.

diablita

That's a great idea, Nadra!

RA, I hope today is a better day.

I wish I could find a good gluten free alternative like this.  I've got some pizza crusts, and they are good, but they are just more calories than I want for a light meal.  That used to be one of my go-to meals, flatbread pizzas.

Run Amok

Yep, I'm looking forward to using them for pizza!

Mostly I try and just skip whatever the starch portion is of a meal- but sometimes it's nice to have a bit of "bread". I've become acustommed to skipping the bun with veggie dogs/sausages/burgers. My go-to meal on this diet is often a salad, a side of sauteed veggies and then either a veggie burger/sausage/hotdog. I should probably branch out... but it's just so easy! Lastnight I did a black bean pattie with sauteed cauliflower, onions and peppers that I spiced with curry powder, cumin and chili powder and a huge salad with romaine, spinach, pepers, onion, cukes, tomatoes and a little lemon/dijon mustard. Yummy, satisfying, super easy, and all of about 300 calories. I really don't miss the bun.

For some reason, though, for lunch I just can't do salad. It always feels like too much cold food. I need something warm mid day.

A bit hungry post breakfast today, might eat my mid-morning snack a bit early. I do have an extra apple and some grapes today though... should have plenty of food to get me through.

Running tonight. Come hell or high water, I am running tonight. Too easy to fall off the bandwagon the minute fall hits!

I also like these a lot, but have been having a hard time finding them in they city. http://www.latortillafactory.com/products-3.aspx The big thing is that they are 80 calories and have 12g fiber and 9 g of protein. The diet I follow really emphasises protein and fiber so they fit in really well with that. I use them for pizzas, to make crackers, etc. The I usually buy a high fiber bread. I do like the flat out wraps though... so I might stick with those (also super convenient that I can get them at costco!).

Those are what I use for tortillas.

can you make pizzas on a gluten free tortilla instead? i like this brand

http://www.foodforlife.com/products?tid_1=15&tid=All

Definitely!  I just haven't seen any GF tortillas (other than corn ones, which are not too bad topped with pizza stuff, but not quite what I'm looking for).  I wonder if they are in the frozen section, where the GF pizza crusts are?

Diablita, that happened to me when I was 16, except I didn't need the graft. Good vibes to you!!! Where is it located? Mine was on my arm. I'm overdue for a derm visit, too. Just what I want to do while pregnant. :D

I don't even want to talk about food right now.  :-[

The Ezekiel stuff/Food for Life stuff is frozen. I eat their tortillas, bread, pitas, etc. It is sprouted grains, so may take a bit to get used to the flavor/texture, but i love them.

Is sprouted grain gluten free?  I have not really looked at any of that at the store, because I assumed it wasn't.  Maybe I should check again...

Not if it's wheat. It looks like they do have a rice product. I think la tortilla factory makes a GF wrap from teff & millet though.

Sheesh, I fall of the wagon for a week and we have all sorts of shit hitting the fan.

Tricia, I am so sorry about your dog, that must have been heart breaking.

Diablita, yikes, malignant melanoma sounds scary and I hope that it is indeed easily fixed with surgery (next month?)!  :fingers: for you.

Merigayle, I don't understand how you can possibly not be at ideal weight with the healthy way you eat and the amount of exercise you do! Life is not fair.

Bolloxd, good luck with potty training! You are a brave soul.

I am not making any progress on the eating well/exercising front and I'm totally not motivated to change anything. At least I don't really like halloween candy.

Someone here (D?) suggested this soup. I picked some up recently and I woudl second it as a recomendation. Only 60 calories/cup. I'm a little more hungry after lunch than I typically am when I do a bean soup. But, it was tasty anyway! Your 60 calories buys you 2 grams each of protein and fiber. :)

merigayle

Some of the Ezekiel stuff is gluten free, but not all.

Yeah, life is not fair  :bat: i should be a size two :D

RA, yes that's the soup we love.  On Monday I cooked this fabu meal with fresh potatoes and greens from our farm share and chicken and DD begged for the broccoli soup instead.  :skep:

We buy the one that's not light in sodium.  It doesn't seem high though.  I guess I should look at the salt content.

I didn't buy the light sodium one either that's just the pic I found. In fact,I added more salt!

I am laying on the couch. Soooooo tired. Don't feel like running.  :wah:
