Send me latkes!  Yum!

I'm +2 today, more TOM that party-related.

Now I have an unhappy problem.  I've already taken the suit pants I'm wearing today in once.  They are now so baggy I'm worried they'll slip off my hips.  Do I buy new suit pants now?  I'm still 20 pounds from my goal weight.  But given the slow progress I've made this year, I don't anticipate getting to my goal weight until May.  That's 6 months in increasingly baggy pants!  I think I've answered my own question.

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

Yup. I think if you can find one or two inexpensive pieces that can help you transition, it is worth buying a couple of basics - I have black pants in almost every size, for example.  ;)

I'm pretty excited.. My nutritionist has upped my calories 200 a day, adding a carb at dinner (I currently only have one carb at dinner once a week) for the next two weeks.  It's to maintain for two weeks since I'm kind of plateued and then take away like 3-400 calories starting January 2nd and kick start another round of hopefully weight loss.  I just signed up for a half in april which I'd like to run and train pretty hard for to see how much I can improve from my 1:55 with a few pounds off.. but it's nice to have a little extra leeway over the next 2 weeks... beer=carb right?

Nice! I'm thinking about a nutritionist after the baby - we'll see. How did you find yours?

I actually worked with him when I lived in Maine he worked out of the gym I went to and I really leaned out. Now that I live in pa it's actually pretty easy to just work with him on line and we have a phone conference once a week

Oh, cool! The clinic I go to has a weight management program, but it's basically a liquid diet at first, and very, very $$$$.  :-\ I may just go back to WW.

I am going to try to make the recipe in the vegan thread that involves the pasta and black beans and artichokes.  Will have to run to the store for canned tomatoes, green onions, and cayenne.  Believe it or not, I actually have black beans and artichokes in my pantry.  (I'm not sure how that happened, but I have them...)

Will probably pick up some spinach too.  Not sure if I will serve any or not, but I need some anyway.

I have a guinea pig coming over tonight to eat with test it with me.  :D  Maybe I should pick up some milk in case we end up needing to eat cereal for dinner instead.

Well, poo.  He doesn't feel well.  So I will probably skip the trip to the store and not cook after all.
Ellen stole my joy and I want it back!

There's a huge buffet of pastries downstairs.  Luckily I'm lazier than I am greedy, but still... >:(  Don't they know I have a weigh-in tomorrow?   >:(

We just got a big box of Enstrom's toffee.   :nono:

That shit is like crack, I swear.

Run Amok

so, food has been really terrible, despite my best intentions. Blerg. I've been working out a lot though, so that is good.

I have eaten like there's no tomorrow. I dread getting on the scale in the morning.
I don't have time for laundry; I'm trying to have a great life.

Oh yeah. I attempted to track up to about Monday, but after a family celebration on Sunday and the start of the Christmas debauchery on Monday, it was already getting scary to see the numbers, so I stopped!  :D

The saving grace will be that I did go for a swim (!) on Monday with my sister at her gym, and that mr. cgraz and I got lost when we went out for a run on Christmas Day and ended up doing 4.5 miles instead of 3. Doh!

Holy crap, the food fest continues around here until Saturday night, at least. My in-laws leave sometime on Sunday and then things can get back to normal. It's also in the 20s outside right now.  :o I know for a lot of you, that's nothing, but around here, that's COLD. I just don't have cold-weather workout gear for anything that cold.  :snowball: I'm off work, so I may go for a walk later if/when it warms up, or I may do some yoga or something.

Or, I might go see Les Miz and eat a cheeseburger. :D

MOS, the nutritionist sounds great.  I'd be choosing pasta instead of beer (I'm a pastaholic). :)

I'm doing pretty good, thanks.  Down to just a small covering over the graft and the incision from the origin site is healing nicely.  I'm heading out for a trail run in a bit. :w00t:  (I'll have to stay on service roads for a little while longer though; can't risk falling on single track.)  For the long-term stuff I need to find a place that does derm body photography (may have to travel to Charlotte for this) and a therapist.  But I'm good for now.

Courtney

What is body derm photography?  A good friend of mine has had some scary/crazy skin cancer bouts as well, and I wonder if she has done this?

Eating over the weekend wasn't awful, but that is mostly becasue we just stayed at home.  This weekend is our christmas with DH's family, and to call it a food fest would be an understatement.  GAH.  I'm going to take solace in the fact that lots of it is stuff I can't eat (gluten).  :D  However, there is no gluten in potato chips and chocolate, so I'm probably screwed.

I'm in charge of breakfasts on saturday and sunday mornings.  I am looking for new ideas.  But they aren't exactly willing to try new things, so I'll probably do a variation on an egg casseroley dish and monkey bread, like usual.

Stomach bug, third day, up two pounds. Body why do you hate me?

diablita

Courtney, they take pics close-up of your whole body and all the marks on it so that you have a baseline.  Then as you go to your derm screenings, they can compare the worrisome ones to the picture to see if they're changing.

Oh no, meri.  I'm sorry about the stomach bug AND wtf is your scale thinking???

Wow, it makes so much sense to do the pictures - I'm surprised more dermatologists don't do that. I always wonder about it when I do my yearly check - like how will she know if something on my back looks any different as compared to last time. Because I won't really know, unless it is irritated or otherwise bothering me. Glad you're doing well, and hope all the follow-up continues to go well too.

Sorry to hear about the stomach bug, meri. Hope you're feeling better soon.
