for between 20-30 possible people drinking mimosas. I never should have volunteered for this.

You can probably get 6-8 small mimosas out of a bottle of champagne.  So, 4 or 5 bottles?

Last time I did brunch I did quiche, fruit, Greek yogurt & homemade granola, and then assorted frozen bake-at-home goodies from trader joes. They have a bunch of mini things like croissants and cinnamon buns and the are all excellent. Everything else can be done ahead. I serve quiche room temp.

My calc is one bottle to every 4 people, so I'd buy 6-7 bottles but it depends on number of non-drinkers and number of refills.

Breakfast burritos are easy to make, slice and serve.

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

She's an awful, awful human being.

I tend to trust Mini on these issues

last brunch we did was:
gravlax (w/ yogurt cheese, dill, capers, red onion, etc. and dark rye toasts)
fruit salad
savoury shortbread cookies

other good brunch items:
feta-dill muffins or corbread muffins or other savoury muffin
lemon pancakes w/ blueberry chutney
asparagus brunch bread (essentially a bread pudding with a layer of cheese & asparagus in the middle)
toad-in-the-hole
fish cakes
baked beans

as for the champagne, buy cava, it's made the same way as champagne but runs WAY cheaper for what I think is a better product... and it so much depends how much these people drink for brunch... if everyone drank mimosas like my MIL, I'd have to tell you 15 bottles to be on the safe side...

True, but it'll be good to have some idea of a number of bottles. I should probably go with the seven, I know at least I am a heavy drinker.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I'll have to look into making my own granola, that sounds cost effective. And what the heck is a toad in the hole!?

Run Amok

Here's the granola recipe I make. It's to die for, just ask MG. She's adicted too! Best to make two batches because you'll probably eat the first one before it is even completely cool: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Vanilla-Scented-Granola-106306

it is a vegan recipe, but easily sub cow milk for almond milk and butter for vegan butter.

I was very close to making the monkey bread, but ditched it at the last minute (to save moolah). It sounds great, though, next time! I ended up buying 8 bottles and going through 4...didn't expect that, but it was a shorter get together and people didn't want to drink before driving. I also made these super (really super) simple scrambled egg slash biscuit cups which were a hit (in case you guys need future brunch ideas) and the granola with some yogurt and fruit.

Now I have four bottles of champagne to finish off all by myself, woo!!

Thanks everyone!
