Macaroni and cheese!

It's the first thing that popped into my head.  :D

Whatever you know how to cook and enjoy eating.  It's your kitchen, so put your own stamp on it with a failsafe and delicious recipe.  I would probably grill a dry-aged ribeye and/or commit other sins against veganism, but that right there is why you don't want to ask other people exactly what you should cook.

Yes. I know. But. So much pressure! I have no idea.  :panic: It feels so important!

Not done yet! Are we friends on FB? You can see the latest there.

Right now it looks pretty much like this:

The counters are going in tomorrow!

I would suggest for you to make something you know by heart, but add a twist that would make it special, like adding an unusual ingredient. Kind of like being a Chopped contestant, from the appetizer down to the dessert. then post a pic and the recipe!

It ain't a party til mags shows up. -wonderwoman

I like the idea of it being a recipe I've carried with me through every move, every relationship, every stage of my life.

Contenders in that case are mostly comfort foods my mother made.
A veggie soup with dumplings
Stirfry
Welsh Rarebit  on english muffins (not quite tomato season though)

Other things I've picked up along the way:
My favorite summer salad: romaine, avocado, cuke, green peppers (chopped tiny) + feta & a lime vin
An unusual pea & lettuce risotto
Lentil kokfte
Goi Kohn
Momo

I guess I'll see how the weather is that day. But... I'm leaning towards stirfry. The thing I always crave when I'm away from home. Simple. Light. Full of fresh veggies. mmmm
