BREAKING! 56:51! New Half Marathon WORLD RECORD!🏃♂️😱 🔥
Yomif Kejelcha just ran 56:51 for the half marathon in Buenos Aires, putting himself back at the top of the all-time list.
The Ethiopian took 29 seconds off the 57:20 mark set by Jacob Kiplimo earlier this year. Kejelcha had previously held the record with 57:30 in Valencia in 2024.
His average pace was an astonishing 2:42 per kilometer (4:20 per mile) for 21.1 km.
The 56:51 is currently awaiting official ratification.

20 miles, with 3 easy to get going then about 13 easy moderate, and finishing with some tempo-pace work (2X2K at marathon pace). Felt pretty good today.

On the tail end of a down week in my half training and I'm feeling a bit bummed out for some reason.

I did a 2 mile warm up, hit the track for a solo 5k in 16:33, and did a 4 mile cool down. The track effort helped my confidence but man oh man I wish I had someone running my harder/faster runs with me that I could chase or run from.

Weather was ideal, mid 70sF and low humidity.

I'm back, but that stomach issue flattened me. Monday-Tuesday were easy doubles but I still felt a little woozy all day. I tried a 2.5 hour long run yesterday and did make 2 hours but could tell my glycogen reserves were low, so I cut it off there.

Today was a 6.3 mile recovery run. The lightheadedness is mostly gone now.

Hill repeats on a 300M hill x 7. 3.5K warm up and cool down to and from hill. 12K in total.

Loco Coyote and glwestcott hope you guys are back on the roads soon.  :nurse2:

Ouch! Broken toes can hurt. But they also heal fast, usually.
