Big breakaway group today.
damn work is getting in the way of watching it live, so following on cyclingnews.

Rain and hail at the finish. Maybe things will improve before the cyclists get there.

ctjim

Rain might be welcomed on the climb, hail not so much.

The downhills are scary -- lots of riding cautiously.

QuoteGeraint Thomas (Team Sky), on chasing down attacks for teammate and overall leader Chris Froome

"When he [Nairo Quintana] attacked, I was like, 'oh no', because Richie was done and the pressure was on me. Fortunately, I had the legs to respond and slowly ride back up to him. When I was doing that, the confidence was really good, I thrive off that, and then you kind of ride better because, you know, I just chased down Nairo!

"It's all about riding for Froomie, I'm up on GC but I wasn't even thinking about that, so yeah, it was another good day."

:D  Very cool.

I loved watching Majka yesterday!

I am not sure it is possible but I think Froome and Tejay both look much leaner than last year.

And I adore little Tommy Voeckler.

I missed pages!  (Sigh.  No cable TV, no TdF).  But yes, Womens World Cup is in France in 2019.  I'm not sure what the overlap will be, but it seems that the latter part of the soccer should butt up closely to early stages of TdF.  So if I save my pennies and vacation time, I could probably do a little of both.
Ellen stole my joy and I want it back!

DH made the "off the PEDs" comment about Nibali as well.

Handbag of courage.

Love!

I'm off the grid this morning. Someone else will have to post the stage elevation graphic.

I've got this.
Green jersey day, but a tough one.

Intermediate sprint, then some nasty-ish climbs, then Sagan-friendly finish.

the finish was a good read. Cant wait to see it later.

Those guys on the break away must have been crushed to get caught so close to the finish line.
I've been doing this how long?

We thought they wouldn't get caught.

I peeked at who won. That's pretty cool.

Stage 14 - Why did I think we were done with the mountains of the Pyrenees?

InflatableLawnTurkey

Just a bit of reshuffling at the GC level.
