The scientific consensus might, of course, be wrong. If the history of science teaches anything, it is humility. But our grandchildren will surely blame us if they find that we understood the reality of climate change and failed to do anything about it.

I can't believe that not one of the services (amazon, Netflix, Comcast, CBS) I have currently has Casablanca. DW has never seen it.

TCM on demand should have it for free.  It was just on.

I still have cable and TCM has it for free.  TCM shows it at least once a month.

PWWP

I still think The Unforgiven and The Outlaw Josey Wales are tied with Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid as the best westerns ever made. But I haven't seen many of the classic westerns from the 50s and 60s.

Very good movie but I think The Wild Bunch is the greatest western ever.

I forget the channel, it plays all the 'autopsy' and 'last hours of ...' sensationalized documentaries.

Plugging Along

I watched The Deep(1977) neat underwater stuff, but the plot lacked logic and got silly towards the end.

Peter Benchley's follow up to Jaws. Just OK.
No way could he be expected to match the success of Jaws.

Jacqueline Bisset in her hey day, and Nick Nolte just before his hot streak.
Eli Wallach, Louis Gossett Jr, and Robert Shaw gave the background some strength.

Benchley also wrote The Island.
A secret pirate society dating back to the 1700s on an uncharted island preying on boaters who happen too close.
No surprise that Michael Caine couldn't carry the film.
At about this time the movies replaced water based villains with aliens, werewolves, and boogeymen with knives and hatchets.

During this quarantine afternoon where she declared that she was bored, I introduced dd#1 to 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off'.

She loved it. Generally she doesn't like much more than a few years old.
