"Last hope" for what, exactly?

If Laz lets Courtney Dauwalter in, she could do it [maybe not on her first attempt, but who knows?]

NONONO!!! No women!  :incazzato:

ctjim

You finally running it this year, Lackey ?

Wouldn't surprise me to see her enter this year or in the very near future.  She's a damn machine over just about any type of long-ass event and they're both very much on each others' radar.  A 60 hour cutoff is mere child's play after those backyard shenanigans.

At any rate, she seems more trustworthy and reliable than Gary RoBBins.

I can neither confirm nor deny my involvement.  However I can confirm the license plates.  I've got three different states lying around somewhere.

Jamil is a confirmed entrant!....unless he's lying on his youtube channel and prancing around Frozen Head last month just for gits n' shiggles, which is always possible with this event.

GOGOGO!!!

GETTINGCLOSER!!! The rumors are the weekend after this one, which is when it most frequently happens.  Last year it was this weekend.  Also the spoof twitter accounts have started firing up again within the past few days, which could mean a lot or nothing at all.  A couple regulars have put out videos or posts last weekend with vague references to seeing what happens ''in a few weeks' time''. So it could be pushed into April.  Or it could all be part of the ruse.

Either way....

GOGOGO!!!!

I have slightly-better-than-chance intelligence that ITSTHISWEEKEND!!! GOGOGO!!!  Which CHers are in?  Send me your bib numbers so I can look you up on the athlete tracker?  8)

Was there ever really any doubt that Laz controls the weather?

John Kelly and Jared Campbell are both entered again! And they've eased up on the weather forecasts.  Between them and the frenchman and Jam Jam, there should be a solid pack up front and as good a chance as any of seeing finishers.  Also I really want a race shirt!  :d

Just over an hour until the conch watch begins.  GOGOGO!!!

Why not make running the Barkley a goal?  You're obviously obsessed :D.  Talk to Ice Cream.  I think her husband either did it or knows lots of people who did.

A friend of mine holds the women's record.

I'd never want to run Barkley.

Me neither.  But he seems interested, to say the least.  He should aim to run it.

Beverly Anderson-Abbs?  She was in the documentary!  She's a badass  :runner:

Apparently they added a second human sacrifice this year, so my chances are doubled! Any drunken monkey can do 100 miles in 60 hours, even if gently rolling hills are involved.  VERY EASY!  Time to download the C2Barkley app  8)

We're inside the conch window now.  GOGOGO!!!

ITHASSTARTED!!!!  :runner:

No word on early mile splits yet.  Trying to find the feed from the lead truck....

John Kelly and the frenchman through loop 1 in 8:31 and 8:32 respectively.  Jam Jam about 15-20 minutes back.  Very quick turnarounds for all three to head back out onto loop 2.  Slightly ahead of schedule from last year.  Looks like they're in for a bit of rain and substantially cooler temps over night.

the kenyan

6 men out on loop 3.  Both former finishers have tapped out.  The frenchman is in front and looks strong, but no one who's started loop 3 that late (just over 21 hours) has finished 5 loops.  Time is on the side of the course to win for the second year in a row!

the kenyan

Two guys finished the 3rd loop and started the 4th with 2 minutes to spare  :panic:

The Frenchman arrived 3 minutes after the cutoff to continue  :'(

Three guys (including Jam Jam) still out there and have just under 4 hours (1:23 eastern) to finish the fun run and get credit for 3 loops.
