Bronchitis medication means low cortisol values and lampre is keeping him out.  :(

Noooooooooooooooooo!   :'(

I don't know anything about cortisol. How does low cortisol effect you?

ctjim

Aww that's too bad.
Read an interview with him a couple of days ago where he said he thought his form was actually BETTER than last year at this time. He was just worried about getting healthy.

La madre degli imbecilli รจ sempre incinta.

That sucks.  I was hoping to see him defend.

Horner took a 6 hour training ride to console himself -- while journalists waited...and waited...and waited.  :lambie:

He's looking at the Canadian races coming up.

Only if the snow melts.

I suppose that's why Svein Tuft rides for an Australian team.

I was talking to a co-worker about Svein today.  Turns out said co-worker raced against Svein BITD when Svein raced locally.

Very cool. Any stories?

Sorry.  Nothing specific.  He just said Svein was something special - totally outclassed the peloton.  It really puts it into context when a guy like Svein who blew away the local competition is a domestique on the grand tours.

From what I've read Tuft is an entirely different breed from most cyclists.

Just in case you haven't seen any of them. http://velonews.competitor.com/2013/07/news/the-oldest-tour-rookie-of-the-modern-era-svein-tuft-is-a-rider-like-no-other_293692

And since this started with a Horner thread -- his contract with Lampre is still up in the air. That's understandable since he spend so much of this year injured and then sick and then excluded from the Vuelta. I hope he gets a contract because that's not a great way to end a career.

Ha.  Svein is very BC - not that we all ride 1000 miles towing dogs to go mountain climbing, but I've met people like him around here.

I hope Chris gets another contract and gets to go out on a high note.
