Here is the quote from where Toc proposed the idea...I was scared at first, but the more I've thought about it, the more I am excited about giving it a try. 

Here's an idea for a very loose one, possibly for some time in the future, suggested by a meatspace friend of mine who's sort of following all of this:

Inheritance tracks: there's a radio show which asks a guest to do this: one track you received from your parents(' generation), one that you have passed on to the next generation.  For us, of course, this would be an image of something you'd inherited and one of something you'd passed on - concrete objects or not - posted as a diptych.

This is my take on it...

There will be 2 photos side by side.  One photo is something you've inherited - whether it be a physical item or maybe something else like a personality trait, use your imagination.  The other photo will be of something you will (or have) passed on. 

Still clear as mud?

Of course, I could be completely wrong on this...but that's just my take on the theme.

Two images, one of which represents something handed down to you by the previous generation, the other of which represents something you've handed on.   No constraints on what the images contain - the nose you got from your mother and the graduation ring you gave your goddaughter, a flower because you inherited a love of gardening from your dad and your messy desk because your son has got your untidiness....

OK, while we're discussing it, the self portrait is already giving me fits!
And so is film noir.
I have never psoted a picture of myself on the internets and probably won't start now.  I'm an introvert, remember?   
So can self portrait be any interpretation?




Oh, and diptych sounds like dipstick with a lisp.

Wannab,  I would think that any picture of any part of you would work.  Maybe even a picture of stuff that represents you would be ok.  I am sure that whatever you do will be fine.

While sitting out on my deck this afternoon I got an idea for the self portrait.
I'll have to practice to make sure it's not one of my, "well it seemed like a good idea at the time" photos.

I also had to go look up film noir.  And while I'm still stumped on what to do, at least I have a starting point in my mind.

Ahhh.  I wondered if it was a technical term. 

It would be a good challenge for me, since I tend to only shoot vegetable or mineral, but I'll have to find an event that includes jumping people...
